Momentum Logistics eyes East African expansion

The expansion into this market is a strategic development for Momentum, and results have exceeded forecasts. The company’s ability to store, pack, transport and ship customers’ goods to the rapidly-growing East African markets has created excellent development for all areas of the business. Incorporating local knowledge and expertise, Momentum has managed to expand operations to cater for a variety of customers and their cargo.

Momentum’s Freight Forwarding manager Thomas Thomsen, on a recent visit to East African countries, commented on the planned developments, saying, “The UAE is strategically positioned as a logistical hub to offer good services to the East African markets, and for centuries trading links have been substantial between the two regions.

Momentum is well established with offices and depots throughout the UAE, which, in combination with Momentum’s one-stop-shop abilities (particularly at our logistics hub in the Sharjah Inland Container Depot), makes our further developments very exciting, particularly as businesses are growing volumes to and from Africa”.

Since Momentum was established in 2008, the focus on expansion and extending and improving services has never ceased, and the company aims to become the global provider of choice. Momentum is determined to improve brand recognition in newly developed markets despite challenging conditions, and the current footprint and achievements to date are paving the way for this young 3PL to continue its excellent successes.

Momentum Logistics operates one of the largest trucking operations in the region, as well as a state-of-the-art vehicle maintenance and repair facility, a container repair depot and 35 warehouses within the Sharjah Inland Container Depot.
