New dry bulk terminal for Kandla Port

The terminal will feature four berths with a depth of 15m alongside, and able to handle four vessels simultaneously with an annual capacity of 14m tonnes. The offshore berths will be built at the port’s Tekra Tuna site in a public-private partnership scheme and includes a 30- year concession on a build-operate-transfer (BOT) basis. The Ministry also confirmed that – depending on the development of container traffic in the country – the terminal could be used for container handling. Costs of the project are estimated at around USD23.6 million and it is scheduled that the winning bidder will start operations 24 months after signing the concession agreement.
