The service is designed to help shipping lines and truckers avoid traffic delays in Copenhagen’s city center and reduce emissions by offering them container repair, refrigerated equipment pre-trip services and cleaning/washing of empty containers.
The terminal is ideally located with easy access to/from the motorway and close to the railway, where APM Terminals – Cargo Service operate three weekly departures to/from Aarhus.
Commenting on the new service, Johan Uggla, Managing Director of APM Terminals – Cargo Service, Johan Uggla said “Our strategic growth plan calls for constantly finding new ways to better serve our customers while reducing our carbon footprint. This new M&R service helps our customers address maintenance and repair needs in their transportation chain in a very convenient, high volume location. It helps them avoid unnecessary delays, reduces their logistics costs and promotes environmentally-sound alternatives by keeping the trucks out of the city center. It is a natural extension of our Aarhus/Copenhagen direct rail services launched two years ago.”
