The Port Authority of Thailand has purchase two ML4000 simulators with full cabins, plasma screen displays and motion bases. The simulators will be used to train crane operators on both the STS and RTG cranes. In addition, GlobalSim is delivering nine desktop simulators to augment the premium simulators. The systems will be installed in the Port Authority’s new training center that has just been built in Bangkok. “Crane simulators have become a necessity for cost effective training
for the busy ports in Thailand”, said Kamolsak Promprayoon, Deputy Managing Director, Bangkok Port. GlobalSim President, Scott Huntsman adds, “This is our third customer in Asia. With the growth of trans-shipment ports in the region, we are seeing a lot more interest in using simulation to reduce training time and improve productivity in a safe training environment.”
