World leading load measurement company Strainstall Marine becomes a subsidiary of Fendercare Marine

With over 45 years’ experience, Strainstall Marine specialise in the development and manufacture of products that measure load, strain and stress, as well as total jetty monitoring and management solutions. They are supported by an extensive multi disciplined engineering team that has acquired an international reputation for work in strain gauge based technology for the marine, offshore, rail, civil engineering, power and construction sectors.

Both Strainstall Marine and Fendercare Marine are members of James Fisher and Sons plc, and this strategic move benefits both parties by giving Strainstall Marine access to Fendercare.

Marine’s global locations and markets and Fendercare Marine the capability to provide engineered solutions.

This move will further benefit Strainstall Marine customers by enabling them to access load measurement products through Fendercare Marine’s regional hubs in the UK, the UAE, Singapore, Brazil, India, Australia, West Africa and China, whilst dealing with knowledgeable staff that understand the needs of the local area. Similarly, Fendercare Marine’s customers will be offered a wider range of products and services and the convenience of single supplier sourcing for large marine and offshore projects.

Both companies have been working together on projects for some time, using Strainstall Marine’s skills in providing bespoke solutions combined with Fendercare Marine’s extensive experience in the marine and offshore industries. This has led to the recent launch of the Intelligent Fender System and the Vessel Motion Monitoring System (VMMS), both specifically targeted to assist in the safe transfer of personnel during offshore wind farm operations. With this combined expertise and market knowledge, they will continue to collaborate on product development projects that anticipate and fulfil the needs of their customers.

Strainstall Marine will retain its name and continue to provide its existing services.

Eric Plane, Fendercare Marine Managing Director said “Over the last few years, Fendercare Marine have moved forward from being a company providing shipping industry equipment and offering an STS service to the oil industry. Today’s announcement is evidence that Fendercare is now a company that does all of that but also offers a wide range of marine services to the offshore energy industry on a worldwide basis”

Simon Everett, Strainstall Marine Managing Director said “This integration provides Strainstall Marine with the opportunity to provide a local service to our international customer base through the extensive Fendercare Marine regional office network. In addition we see exciting opportunities to work with Fendercare Marine to develop new products and solutions to assist the marine and offshore industries”
