Work re-started on the USD5.25 billion Panama Canal project

Striking workers on the Panama Canal expansion have agreed to a 13% pay increase and are expected to return to work today. Grupo Unidos por el Canal, the consortium that oversees the locks project, will also cover delayed overtime and weekend pay.

2011 Shipping figures show growth and efficiency at Milford Haven

Newly released shipping figures for Milford Haven Port show steady growth and an increase in efficiency throughout last year. Port of Seattle once again tops 2 million TEU

The Seattle Harbor once again handled over 2 million TEU (20-foot equivalent units) with 2.03 million containers moving through the harbor in 2011.  The record was broken in 2010 with 2.1 million TEU'. 2011 is the third year the harbor has exceeded 2 million TEU.
