US Department of Defense awards Kalmar contract for 18 rough terrain container handlers

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has gained an order to supply a further 18 rough terrain container handlers to the United States Department of Defense. Destined to replace older equipment, the Kalmar RT240s will be delivered to multiple military bases across the United States by the end of the year 2013. The customer currently operates 1246 Kalmar RT240 machines.

TecPlata selects Identec Solutions for refrigerated container monitoring

TecPlata SA, the Argentinian subsidiary of international container terminal group ICTSI, has selected the RFID-based Reefer Asset Management System (RAMS) from Identec Solutions to wirelessly automate refrigerated container monitoring and control at its green-field terminal in Port La Plata, close to Buenos Aires.

Kalmar E-One2 RTGs create further capacity at TPS in Indonesia

TCV Stevedoring takes delivery of its new RTG

Last week, Spanish TCV Stevedoring Company, a stevedoring company in the Port of Valencia belonging to Grup TCB, took delivery of the components of its four new Konecranes RTG cranes. The new machinery, part of an ambitious investment programme at the terminal, will be erected on the Muelle de Levante dock in the coming months.

Bromma reports on a good order intake

SC Ports posts highest monthly cargo volume since 2008

The South Carolina Ports Authority (SCPA) handled 144,649 TEU in August and recorded its highest monthly volume since October 2008. August container volumes increased 5.6% year-over-year and helped drive a 4.5% increase in container volumes since Financial Year (FY) 2014 began. In July and August, the Port of Charleston handled 280,808 TEU compared to 268,806 TEU during the same period last year, and year-to-date TEU volumes are ahead of FY2014 plan by 1.8%.
