Gaussin wins record 100-unit Turkish deal for all-electric terminal vehicles

Gaussin Manugistique SA, French designer and manufacturer of industrial and port transport vehicles, has been awarded a record deal for its container-handling Automotive Terminal Trailer (ATT) from Turkish port and logistics operator AKAN-SEL. Under the terms of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), AKAN-SEL placed an order for 40 ATT units with an option for 60 more.

RWG receives first parts for their Automatic Stacking Cranes

Rotterdam World Gateway (RWG) has started building their first Automated Stacking Crane (ASC). The parts for the first ASC were delivered in yesterday morning. The delivery is another important step in building Rotterdam World Gateway. The next year there will be 50 ASCs supplied in total, and also 14 quay cranes and 59 automated guided vehicles (AGVs).

Interporto Bologna first Italian terminal to join InlandLinks

The Interporto Bologna container terminal close to Bologna (Italy) has joined InlandLinks. The network now numbers almost 40 terminals in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Poland and in Italy. The terminal in Bologna is bi-modal and has a capacity of 300,000 TEU a year. It is directly connected to the port of Rotterdam by a shuttle train running 4 times week, operated by GTS/Shuttlewise. 

VDL receives big AGV order from ECT

The ECT Delta Terminal in Rotterdam and VDL have signed a new contract for 63 VDL AGVs. This order follows a previous order of 22 VDL AGVs. The delivery will start at the end of the existing order scheduled for April 2014.

Kalmar raises the bar with the new light range of forklift trucks

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has announced the launch of the DCF50-90 forklift truck, the latest in the series of industry leading light range of 5-9 tonnes capacity machines. The new truck boasts several technological improvements designed to boost operational efficiency and provide the driver with a high level of comfort, for round-the-clock operations. It is the first in the new generation of light machines to be equipped with an SCR traction control system. 

Record annual tonnage throughput for PHPA

The Port Hedland Port Authority (PHPA) in Australia has reported a record tonnage throughput of 288.4 million tonnes (Mt) for the 2012/13 financial year, an increase of 17% from the previous year.
