The decision to partner with Navis underscores the terminal’s commitment to efficiency, responsiveness and operational transparency for customers.
Over the past 12 years, Terport has emerged as a leading supplier of port services for containers and general cargo, warehousing, dry port, trucking and special cargo operations. Focusing on implementing processes that are world class and compared to the best performers in the world, Terport is committed to the highest safety and security standards while maintaining high performance levels. The terminal is located in the City of San Antonio, a few kilometers south of Asuncion, at the heart of the Paraguay-Parana Waterway. Terport will be the first terminal on the Paraguay River to go-live with N4 –scheduled for September 2014.
Terport anticipates more than 10 percent annual growth in the next few years. In order to manage this growth, it is imperative for the terminal to optimize its processes and technology to focus on providing superior service to its customers. This includes a commitment to transparent operations and increased efficiency that will directly translate to overall cost reductions.
“The TERPORT board is confident that Navis N4 will help us to efficiently manage our growth while minimizing our yard moves, improving communications with vessel operators and shipping lines, and automating processes,” said Ricardo Dos Santos, General Manager, TERPORT.
“Our N4 implementation and partnership with Navis is an investment in our operational infrastructure and the future success of our terminal,” added Bernd Gunther, TERPORT Operations Manager. “We are aware that flexibility and responsiveness are key for success in our business environment and that’s why it’s clear for us that Navis N4 is the way to go.”
As part of this implementation, TERPORT will utilize Navis’ Expert Decking module, a comprehensive yard allocation optimization tool that facilitates real-time, accurate and optimized stowage of containers in the yard. This will ensure that terminal operators can focus on bigger picture yard management – making it easier to increase yard capacity and optimize operations.
“Navis and TERPORT share a very similar mission: a dedication to customers and a willingness to evolve alongside the industry to meet its changing demands,” said Chuck Schneider, General Manager, Americas for Navis. “We believe that N4 will support TERPORT’s vision, ensuring the highest performance standards and providing the flexibility required to scale operations. Navis is committed to providing the technology, training and support that will drive success for TERPORT.”
N4 is Navis’ latest generation TOS, allowing customers the flexibility and scalability needed to run their operations – from a single terminal to multiple terminals spanning numerous geographic locations managed from one central location.
