October container volumes up 3 percent at Georgia Ports Authority

The Georgia Ports Authority handled a total of 321,094 Twenty-foot Equivalent Unit (TEUs) containers in October 2015, an additional 9,335 units, or 3 percent increase over the same period last year. For the fiscal year to date (July-October), the GPA has moved 1.27 million TEUs, up 74,754 units, or 6.2 percent.

Port of New Orleans surpasses half million container mark

The Port of New Orleans surpassed the half-million mark for twenty-foot-equivalent units handled in a 12-month period for the first time. Konecranes to deliver 10 more Automated RMGs to Khalifa Port

Konecranes will deliver 10 more ARMGs to Khalifa Port in Abu Dhabi. Deliveries will take place at the beginning of 2017. This follows upon the successful delivery of an automated container yard system including 42 ARMG cranes. The port started commercial operations on 1 September 2012.

Rotterdam port tariffs increase by less than inflation

The tariffs which visiting sea-going vessels pay in Rotterdam will increase by 0.5% next year. That is half of the past year's inflation rate. This is in accordance with the three-year agreement made last year between Deltalinqs, VRC, VNPI and the Port Authority on changes to the port tariffs.
