Konecranes has been awarded a contract for their first Boxhunter RTG deal. The customer, CGM, located in South-East Asia, has developed an exciting new kind of business concept involving the Boxhunter.

It has been reported by Reuters that at the end of 2014 the consortium led by Spanish-builder Sacyr won a USD 233 million settlement in a dispute over cost overruns for the expansion works for the new Panama Canal. This is half what the group had been seeking in the lawsuit.

The 18,300 TEU Triple E-Class Marstal Maersk became the largest vessel to call at the new APM Terminals Maasvlakte II expansion in the Port of Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The vessel arrived on Monday morning January 5th as part of the testing phase prior to regular weekly calls starting in February. The vessel is 399mlong and 59m wide and sails in Maersk Line's AE10 Asia/Europe service with the next port call in APM Terminals Tangier, Morocco.

Australian Pilbara Ports Authority (PPA) has delivered a total monthly throughput of 52.8 million tonnes (Mt) for the month of December. Half year-to-date figures (July 2014- December 2014) show a total combined throughput of 314.1 Mt.

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, is delivering four of its latest generation Gloria reachstackers to International Container Terminal Services Inc Group (ICTSI). The 45 tonnes capacity units are the first operational in the Asia-Pacific territory, following their launch in Shanghai in August 2014.

At the end of December, Gaussin signed a letter of intent with PT Teluk Lamong (TTL), a subsidiary of Pelindo, extending and boosting the activity of the group in Indonesia. The signing follows a first agreement – signed in March 2013 - with Pelindo for the supply of 50 ATT Lift Diesel units and docking stations, which are now in operation in the TTL port in Surabaya.
