South Carolina Ports Authority reported 2016 fiscal year-end operating earnings of USD39 million, revenues of USD211 million and operating expenses of USD172 million.

GPA extends 'gray' chassis pool agreement

The Georgia Ports Authority has extended its multiyear agreement with the South Atlantic Chassis Pool of Consolidated Chassis Management (CCM) to provide the region with a "gray" chassis pool, a fleet of chassis that can be used by any trucking line to serve any port terminal in the Southeastern U.S.

Port of Hamburg sees seaborne cargo throughput stabilise for the first six months.

In the first six months of 2016 containerised cargo handling totalled 4.5 million TEU – corresponding to a downturn of 1.2 percent. While total seaborne cargo stood at at 70.2 million tons, including general and bulk cargo segments – slightly down (0.9 percent) in the same period last year.

DP World Partners with Hyperloop One to evaluate new technology

Global trade enabler DP World has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with US-based Hyperloop One to explore the role of innovation in the future of world trade. The collaboration is for feasibility studies that analyse the value of using Hyperloop systems in the UAE, with an initial focus in Phase 1 on moving containers from ships docked at DP World's flagship Jebel Ali Port via the Hyperloop tube to a new inland container depot in Dubai.

Port Bronka successfully performed operational start-up phase

Port Bronka, the new deepwater port in St. Petersburg, was opened by mid of December 2015. Regular services started by January 2016. Meanwhile, the port offers a wide range of maritime logistics services including container-, RoRo- and general cargo handling and after little more than half a year the operational start-up phase is successfully completed.

Palfinger Marine GmbH has decided not to complete the acquisition of TTS Group ASA.

One of the closing conditions of the acquisition was that Palfinger Marine GmbH had to get acceptances for at least 90 per cent of the TTS shares on a fully diluted basis.
