Port of Rotterdam to redirect 4km of port section of Betuwe Route

The Port of Rotterdam Authority is going to redirect approximately 4km of the port (or first) section of the Betuwe Route. As a result, the railway line will no longer run over the Caland Bridge, so that shipping and rail traffic will cease to get in each other's way from 2020 onwards.

APM Terminals completes acquisition of Grup Maritim TCB

APM Terminals has completed the USD 1 billion acquisition of Spanish Grup Maritim TCB's port and rail interests. APM Terminals has yet to receive approval for three of 11 terminals under Grup Maritim TCB, but has decided to move ahead with the acquisition, as the remaining terminals constitute less than 5% of the value of the acquisition.

New rail shuttle and state visit all in one week

The two-day state visit to France by King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima will be commencing tomorrow, 10 March. The visit will take place in the week prior to the start of the regular Rotterdam–Dourges rail shuttle. For the time being, this service will be operating five times a week and, via Dourges, will connect Rotterdam to the whole of France.

Today the South Carolina Ports Authority has announced plans to bring solar power to the Wando Welch and Columbus Street terminals, making SCPA the largest rooftop solar host in the state and further enhancing the Port's commitment to environmentally-responsible operations.
