Paceco Espana signs contract for supply of new STS crane

 The project that represents a renewed challenge, since the crane will designed to work under typically Caribbean weather conditions (very high winds). It is expected to be delivered in 2018 and will complete Port de Jarry terminal´s current equipment needs. The French (insular region of France) container handling terminal has a privileged geographical location between the Caribbean and North Atlantic Sea and serves as crossing point for shipping routes from Europe, America and Asia, thus representing a major economical reference in this specific region. Five container handling cranes that serve 600m of quay in order to face a yearly 3.8 million tons of goods that need to be handled, are already functioning at this terminal.The container-handling crane will be designed by Paceco’s experienced engineering team and the construction undertaken at the company’s European manufacturing facilities.

The Post-Panamax Portainer STS crane will be twin girder boom type design, with an outreach of 43m to reach 16-18 rows vessels, a height under spreader of 33.10m and a 15m rail span. The maximum lift capacity will be 60t. under twin lift spreader. The crane will be equipped with many of the state-of-the-art features in the industry. Unprecedented measures will be taken in design and manufacturing stage to ensure the best performance and sustainability of cranes and its components, along its life cycle.
