The announcement means that hundreds of thousands of road miles and significant cost savings will be achieved as freight arriving in the UK will be closer to its end destination, cutting out significant truck haulage miles. These savings will benefit Claridon’s cargo owner customers when the new deep-sea port opens in Q4 2013.

Claridon manages approximately eight thousand TEU per year on behalf of cargo owners shipping to & from Asia, Europe, North & South America as well as other deep-sea locations. The company has 25 years trading history. ?

Having a port closer to where the containers need to go means that we can significantly reduce landside haulage costs. There’s substantial savings to be passed on to our customers due to London Gateway’s location, which they will be delighted about”.
