An inauguration ceremony was organised on January 20th in the presence of Djarwo Surjanto, the Chairman of PELINDO, who was proud to announce Surabaya is now the first port worldwide to be equipped with a Docking Station. Mr Djarwo Surjanto then personally demonstrated the process to his colleagues, guests and reporters.
The ATT LIFT, combined with the Docking Stating, is an innovation that prevents trans-shipments, the enemy of the logistics chain, thereby avoiding the incremental delay and cost each time a new handling device is required. There is no need to purchase very expensive equipment such as a gantry crane, when using the ATT Lift. Equipped with an automatic guiding system to enter and exit the Docking Station, this vehicle is able to place and remove containers quickly and safely.
PELINDO placed an order in 2013 for 50 ATT LIFT and a Docking Station to equip the new “green field” port of Surabaya, used for handling domestic and international containers and international dry bulk cargo. “We will gain in productivity and safety by using GAUSSIN equipment, when handling containers and putting them on or taking them off port vehicles”, praised Djarwo Surjanto.
