The port will be built by a consortium made up of Sonangol Holding and Sogester, which will have a 70 percent stake whilst
the remainder will be private investment. The port, which will be located in the Torre-do-Tombo area, on a plot of ??80 hectares, will be built in three phases between 2017 and 2024. In an initial phase, investment will be around USD500 million, which will increase to USD1.8 billion when the project is fully completed. The port will have a draught of around 12 meters and be 500 meters
long, with a depth of 14.5 meters. In an initial stage it will be able to receive two ships simultaneously and in the final phase this will rise to about seven ships. (source:macauhub/AO)
