Model 2 belongs to the small crane family of Terex Port Solutions (TPS), which has a variety of types including a rubber-tyred portal crane. This crane type combines the mobility of a conventional mobile harbour crane with the advantages of a portal version, allowing flexibility of use.
The G HRK 2304 rubber-tyred portal harbour crane has a maximum lifting capacity of 80 t, a radius of up to 40 m and a maximum hoist speed of 85 m/min. Kramer will use the crane for fast
handling of full and empty containers on feeder vessels and river barges. André Kramer, President and CEO of Kramer Group, says: “The new crane is tailored precisely to our requirements. We were especially pleased with the cost-effectiveness of the diesel-electric drive system and the rubber-tyred portal with clearance, which makes our terminal operation particularly flexible. We were also impressed by the short delivery time and fast commissioning of the machine.”
Andreas Moeller, Sales Director Mobile Harbour Cranes TPS, explains: “Thanks to the portal solution, the Terex Gottwald Model 2 rubber-tyred portal harbour crane allows traffic flow to continue in the Kramer terminal, even during container handling. Tight turning circles, crab steering and the ability to turn on the spot, make the crane easy to manoeuver, allowing it to be positioned quickly alongside the ship. TPS has specifically developed Model 2 cranes for river and maritime ports with narrow quays. Besides the rubber-tyred portal harbour crane whose portal boasts a clearance width of 9.5 m and a clearance height of 6 m, Model 2 from TPS is also available as a mobile harbour crane, portal harbour crane and floating crane.
