Kalmar's first RTG delivery to Evergreen International Storage & Transport Corporation

The cranes will be used in Taoyuan Inland Container Terminal and Hsichih Inland Container Terminal.

Evergreen International Storage & Transport Corporation offers inland container terminal services to customers all over Taiwan, including lifting operations and control of inbound and outbound containers; container repairing and cleaning service; and warehousing in the distribution center. The company is now expanding the business to international logistics market. The five Kalmar RTG cranes will significantly improve operational efficiency in the inland container terminals as well as help the company to achieve their business targets.

Kalmar RTG features a low-emission diesel engine and an all-electric trolley, wheel turning and spreader. As it uses no hydraulics, servicing is straightforward and there are fewer components to inspect and maintain. The Kalmar RTG’s maintenance interval of 1,000 hours is the longest in the industry.

Mr Hung Ping Kun, Chairman, Evergreen International Storage & Transport Corporation, says: “We have a long-standing relationship with Kalmar for almost twenty years and have always appreciated the long-term reliability and proven performance of their equipment. Our branch in Thailand is also using Kalmar RTGs, thus we believe the new Kalmar fleet will help us to reach our operational goals and at the same time boost efficiency and productivity of container moves at the terminals.”

“We are pleased about this first order of Kalmar RTG for Evergreen in Taiwan. We look forward to further strengthening the cooperation between our companies and continuing to support their business operations.” says Jan Karlsson, Sales Director, Automation & Projects, Kalmar North East Asia.

The five new Kalmar RTGs joined a fleet of six Kalmar empty container handlers at Evergreen International Storage & Transport Corporation. The cranes were delivered from Kalmar’s joint venture Rainbow-Cargotec Industries in Taicang, China.
