1)  Which country generated the highest value (in percentage) of world trade in 2009?
According to the Economist the United States was No 1 with 10.7% followed by Germany (8.2%) and China (7.9%)

2) In 2009, which country had the highest ownership percentage of deadweight tonnage of the world shipping fleet.
The deadweight tonnage is the weight the ship can safely carry – Japan was leading the board with 15.7% followed by Germany with 9.5% and China (8.4%).

3) Why do some birds stand on one leg?
According to Rob Robinson, Senior Population Biologist at the British Trust for Ornithology this has to do with energy conservation. In cold weather birds can lose a lot of heat through their legs because the blood vessels are close to the surface. In hot climates blood in the legs will heat up quickly, so keeping one leg close to the body will reduce this effect and help the bird to maintain a stable body temperature.

In addition, long-legged birds may require significant work to pump blood back up the leg through narrow capillaries. Keeping the leg at a level closer to the heart reduces this workload.
