Tampa welcomes Crowley's RoRo Service

This service accommodates roll-on/roll-off, break bulk and project cargoes. Considering the potential market demand, it is anticipated that further sailings from Tampa will be as frequent as every three weeks aboard the vessel Crowley Americas, serving the Dominican Republic (Rio Haina), Haiti (Port au Prince), Panama (Manzanillo), Costa Rica (Puerto Limon) and Guatemala (Santo Tomas).

“We are delighted to be expanding our relationship with Crowley, whose extensive track record in providing transportation and logistics services throughout Central America and the Caribbean is well known,” said Tampa’s port director and chief executive, Richard Wainio. “This new service will provide exporters and importers of construction equipment, vehicles, break bulk and project cargoes with a more competitive option for trade between Central Florida and Latin America via the Port of Tampa.”

Tampa Port Authority (www.tampaport.com ) administers Florida’s largest and one of the nation’s most diversified ports, handling a wide mix of bulk, break bulk, RoRo and containerized cargoes, and is also one of the nation’s premier cruise home ports, as well as a major center for shipbuilding and repair.
