Aqaba Container Terminal achieves new container handling throughput

Aqaba Container Terminal (ACT) has announced that it achieved its highest-ever monthly container throughput in September by handling a total of 94,541 TEUs. This milestone surpasses the terminal’s previous record of 92,348 TEUs set in May 2025 and represents a 30 per cent increase compared to the same month in 2024.

Gateway Terminals India (GTI), operated by APM Terminals Mumbai, has become the first terminal at Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) to implement an automated Truck Appointment System (TAS). The system, which went live at the end of September, marks a major step forward in optimising terminal operations, reducing truck turnaround times, and enabling smoother container pick-ups and deliveries at India’s busiest container port.

Communication cable break by bulker was an accident Swedish prosecutor confirms

The investigation into a January communication cable break in the Baltic has been closed by the Swedish Prosecution Authority (SPA), convinced that it was an accident. SPA confirmed that the Navibulgar vessel Vezhen had caused the break but said there was no evidence of serious sabotage or other crimes.
