Cargotec wins large container handling equipment contract in Venezuela

Cargotec has won an order to supply 54 Kalmar port equipment to Venezuelan customer Bolivariana de Puertos SA. The order includes 24 Kalmar DRF 450-65 reach-stackers, 4 Kalmar DRF100-54 reach-stackers for empty container handling, 19 Kalmar Ottawa 4x2 terminal tractors, 3 Kalmar DCF80-45 masted empty container handlers and 4 Kalmar DCE160-12 lift trucks.  All equipment will be delivered during year 2011. The parties have agreed not to disclose the value of the order that has been booked in the third quarter of 2011.

Port's steady growth delivers strong economic benefit

The Port of Vancouver USA has announced that overall job numbers tied to port activities increased slightly over the past five years despite the struggling economy. According to a recently completed economic impact study, job growth linked to an increase in the port's marine business made up for a slight decrease in jobs associated with the port's industrial tenants and customers.
